Side-by-side comparison

Localo vs BrightLocal: how each prices Google Business Profile management, what each covers and who should pick which

Localo and BrightLocal side by side from the vendors' own pages: per-profile versus per-location pricing, audit, listings, posts, review tools and who fits.

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-29

Quick answerLocalo prices by connected Google Business Profiles and centers on one profile's weekly upkeep, audit, drafted replies and edit protection. BrightLocal prices by location across three tiers that add listing sync, post scheduling and review requests. Choose by the jobs you need done, and ask each for the total at checkout.
Localo is likely to fit when

✓ Owners of one-location businesses who want a weekly task list for their profile

✓ Freelancers who look after a handful of client profiles and need white-label reports

✓ Owners who want edit protection and drafted review replies in one app

✓ Owners who want a 14-day trial before they pay

Important limitations

— Owners whose profile is complete and who can reply to reviews in Google's free tools

— Agencies that need listing sync and review requests across many sites in one account

— Owners who want a provider to do the work rather than use a dashboard

— Anyone looking for a promised position in Maps, which Google says no provider can guarantee

Localo vs BrightLocal: the pricing model is the first difference

Both tools help a local business look better in Google Maps and Search, but they bill differently. Localo's pricing page sets plans by how many Google Business Profiles you connect and how many of them get its optimization tools. BrightLocal's pricing page sets three tiers, Track, Manage and Grow, and prices each by the number of locations, in bands that start at one location and climb in steps, with a custom plan for 100 or more.

This guide frames the choice around Google Business Profile management, meaning scope and cost model. Rank-tracking comparisons are a separate subject. Both vendors' pages were read on October 29, 2026, and amounts stay on those pages.

Side by side: what each vendor's pages state

  • Meter: Localo counts connected profiles and optimization seats. BrightLocal counts locations.
  • Plan ladder: Localo runs Single Business, Pro and a custom Enterprise plan. BrightLocal runs Track, Manage and Grow, and each higher tier includes the one below it.
  • Audit: Localo runs 17 checks per profile against the top five nearby competitors every week. BrightLocal lists a Google Business Profile audit with competitor benchmarking in Track.
  • Guidance: Localo sets weekly tasks. BrightLocal lists AI Insights in Manage, described as turning local data into prioritized actions.
  • Listings: Localo has a citations manager. BrightLocal Track monitors citation accuracy, and Manage keeps business details synced across key sites.
  • Posts: Localo's content publisher drafts and schedules Google posts. BrightLocal Manage lists scheduled posts on Google Business Profile.
  • Reviews: Localo drafts replies to Google reviews for you to send and offers a QR poster. BrightLocal Grow monitors and responds to reviews across multiple sites, runs review requests by email, text and in-store campaigns, and publishes reviews on your website.
  • Edit protection: Localo's Protection reverses edits that others suggest to name, phone, address and closed status. BrightLocal Manage describes details synced and protected across key sites, which is a different job.
  • Agencies: Localo Pro lists white-label reports, a reports manager and a reviews manager across profiles. BrightLocal has a separate solution for agencies and consultants.
  • Trial: Localo offers 14 days with no card. BrightLocal lists a free trial for each tier.

A worked example of the two meters

Take a plumber with one profile, then a freelancer with six client profiles. These are illustrations, not forecasts.

For the plumber, Localo's Single Business plan covers one profile and one optimization seat, and BrightLocal's one-location price applies to whichever tier the plumber picks. For the freelancer, six profiles fit inside Localo's Pro plan, whose table lists up to 60 profiles and 30 optimization seats, while BrightLocal places six locations in its band for 6 to 10 locations. Run the same sum with your own profile count, then compare the totals each vendor shows at checkout.

What each vendor says about itself

BrightLocal's pricing page calls its pricing the best value and always transparent, and it shows review-site counts and customer stories that BrightLocal chose. Localo's pages show customer quotes and result claims, a 30-day refund promise and a 14-day trial. Both are sales positions, so compare the features you need on each pricing page.

Google's help says third parties cannot promise or directly influence ranking, so a promise of a fixed position from any provider is a warning sign.

Which to choose

  • Choose Localo if you manage one profile or a handful and want a weekly task list, an audit and reply drafts in one app, or if edit protection matters to you.
  • Choose BrightLocal if you want listing monitoring and sync, review requests by email, text or in-store campaigns, and multi-site review monitoring in the same account.
  • Choose neither yet if Google's free tools cover a complete profile and you can reply to reviews yourself.
  • Consider a done-for-you provider if you want the work done rather than a dashboard. Google's guidance on third parties advises a written agreement with the services and costs spelled out.

Questions to ask before you pay

  • Which jobs do I need: audit, weekly tasks, listings, review requests or client reports?
  • How many profiles or locations will I run in a year, and what does each vendor charge at that count?
  • What happens at renewal, and how do I cancel?
  • Who can see client data, and can I remove access when a client leaves?
  • The Localo pricing guide and the software shortlist cover the other options.
