Localo review: what it is and what it does for a Google Business Profile
Localo is subscription software for local search at localo.com. You connect a Google Business Profile, and the tool audits it, sets weekly tasks, tracks Google Maps positions for chosen keywords, drafts replies to reviews and watches for unwanted edits. The vendor groups its product into three jobs: manage, improve and grow.
This review reads Localo's own pages and terms as of October 29, 2026, together with Google's Business Profile help. Plan amounts stay on the vendor's live page, and the Localo pricing guide explains how the plans are metered.
What works well, as the Localo pages describe each part
- Weekly tasks: each connected profile gets a few small tasks with step-by-step instructions, and unfinished tasks carry over. The vendor says it limits the count so that many quick changes do not look like spam to Google.
- Audit: 17 checks on each profile, compared with the top five nearby competitors, shown as a 0 to 100 percent result and re-run every 7 days. Each recommendation links to the Localo tool or the Google setting where you make the fix.
- Reviews: all reviews in one dashboard, with drafted replies in a brand voice that you edit and send. The vendor also tracks reviews that Google removed, so you can ask Google to restore them.
- Protection: monitors name, phone, address and closed status, and reverses changes that others suggest through Google. The vendor says this happens within 15 minutes and that edits made from your connected Google account are left alone.
- Posts and photos: a content publisher that drafts and schedules Google posts and offers.
- Extras: a position map and keyword tracking, a citations manager, a website builder that uses profile data, statistics, an AI assistant and a printable review poster with a QR code.
The vendor's claims against what Google says
Localo's pages carry customer quotes about fast ranking jumps, a count of 156,000 reversed edits and a time figure for the weekly task list. Those are the vendor's own statements and depend on each account, in line with the FTC's endorsement guides.
Google's help pages set the frame. They say there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking, that local results rest mainly on relevance, distance and prominence, and that third parties cannot promise or directly influence ranking through any special means. Treat Localo as a way to save time on upkeep, not as a way to buy a position. Its statements about being cited in AI answers are the vendor's own marketing claims.
Where Localo's own pages disagree
- Pro plan size: the plan card says Pro is best for managing 2 to 10 profiles and optimizing up to 30 of them, the FAQ says Pro covers 2 to 120 client profiles, and the feature table lists up to 60 profiles and up to 30 optimization seats.
- Profile counts: the pricing page says 26,815+ profiles are actively managed, while the protection, audit and review pages say 44,000+, so the two figures may count different things.
- Review replies: the free reply tool is described as replying to Google reviews automatically, while the review manager FAQ says Google discourages fully automated replies and leaves the final click to you.
- Older details: the business owners page lists a package with a cap of 10 keyword phrases and fewer payment options than the pricing page, so treat the pricing page and the checkout screen as the current source.
Limits to weigh before you start a trial
- Terms: Localo's regulations say its analyses are for information only, that acting on them is voluntary and that Localo is not responsible for how the data is used.
- Renewal: the pricing FAQ says subscriptions renew automatically on the billing date, with no extra notice, so note the date when you buy.
- Refunds: the pricing page promises 30 days. The regulations tie that window to the first subscription for a profile slot, exclude later purchases for the same Google account and cap no-reason refunds at three in total.
- Scope: the single plan covers one profile and one optimization seat. Agencies and freelancers need the Pro plan.
- Protection covers suggested edits to name, phone, address and closed status. The vendor's page does not describe suspensions, and Whitespark sells a separate reinstatement service for suspended profiles.
Who Localo fits, and who should pick something else
- Fits: an owner with one profile who wants a weekly list instead of learning local search. The single plan is written for that reader.
- Fits: a freelancer with a handful of client profiles who needs white-label reports, which the pricing page lists with the Pro plan.
- Consider Google's free tools first if your profile is complete and you can answer reviews yourself. The shortlist of profile software starts there.
- Consider BrightLocal if you also want listing sync and review requests across many sites: see Localo vs BrightLocal.
- Before you buy, open the review-site profiles that Localo's free-tool pages quote, sort by newest and by lowest, and check whether complaints concern billing, support or the features you need.
